WHO CAN BECOME A MENTOR?

Mentors can be professionally experienced natural scientists who are interested in advising, guiding and motivating the next generation of scientists during their transition into professional life. You should have at least 3 to 5 years of professional experience. Furthermore, during the current program, you should be able to attend regular meetings with the assigned mentee. The form and intervals of these meetings will be agreed upon individually.
In addition to regular meetings, other forms of support can also be chosen:

> Accompaniment at the workplace (shadowing)
> joint visits to events
> mediation of contacts
> project work
> etc.

Please note: The wishes and expectations of the mentee applicants are the starting point of the matching process. From the mentor applications, we create a pool of potential mentors. Then we try to find a suitable mentor from the pool for the respective mentee. This means that not every mentor can also be assigned a mentee. Thus, not being considered is explicitly not an assessment of professional or personal qualifications.

MENTORING COOPERATON

The individual needs of the mentees determine the topics of the cooperation. On this basis, the tandems conclude an agreement at the beginning of the cooperation that sets out the content and goals of the joint mentoring program. The form and regularity of the respective meetings in addition to the framework program are also discussed and recorded at the beginning.

At the end of the cooperation, the tandems hold a final meeting; mentees also prepare a brief report on their mentoring program.
