Details EUFEPS Mentoring Program

In 2023, EUFEPS will start with the first round of the Mentoring Program.

The general concept is a one-to-one mentoring. This means that one mentor supervises one mentee.

GOALS OF THE EUFEPS MENTORING-PROGRAM

> Sustainably promoting young talent in pharmacy
> Increase career opportunities in science, industry and society
> Prepare young people for the demands of their professional life
> Facilitate transitions and career entry
> make successful career paths visible
> Promoting the compatibility of family and career
> build sustainable career networks

FRAMEWORK OF THE EUFEPS MENTORING-PROGRAM

The mentoring cooperation is designed for 6 months and is accompanied by a framework program. Within this framework, mentee and mentor are prepared for their respective roles and supported in the mentoring process. In addition, there will be opportunities for networking and intensive exchange with the other participants.

The supporting program includes:

> a kick-off event at the EUFEPS Annual Meeting (location varies)
> a mid-term reflection after 3 month to draw a first conclusion and to plan the second half of the program (takes place virtual)
> a final event in which the joint year is recapitulated in a festive setting (location varies)

GENERAL PREREQUISITE

> a partnership of equals characterized by mutual appreciation and a positive basic attitude - despite differences in age and experience

> Mentee and mentor participate in the program voluntarily

> There is no direct relationship of dependency between mentee and mentor

> The mentoring relationship lasts for a defined period of time (in this case 6 months), but can be continued beyond this period by individual agreement.

> A binding, reliable approach to appointments and agreements is essential

> The discussions take place in a protected environment and are strictly confidential.

MATCHING OF THE TANDEMS

The selection and composition of the tandems is done by an advisory board appointed by EUFEPS. The tandems are put together (matching) on the basis of the application profiles.

Important criteria are

> the technical and professional orientation
> personal development and
> the spatial distance
> The personal interests and experience of the participants also play an important role. After all, if the "chemistry is right," the benefits of the mentoring relationship are particularly great.

Once the matching phase is complete, all tandem partners receive their respective contact details. The mentees make initial contact with their mentors. The official match takes place during the kick-off event. After getting to know each other, mentee and mentor decide whether they would like to enter into a cooperation and inform EUFEPS accordingly.
