Prof. Martin Brandl receives the EUFEPS Presidential Distinction Award 2024
by Sandra Häberle
Martin Brandl is a full Professor at the Southern University of Denmark. His research is driven by the motivation to better understand how advanced drug formulations can contribute to make modern, poorly water-soluble, drug molecules orally bioavailable. His research is within the field of biopharmaceutics, connecting properties of drug formulations with their dissolution and supersaturation behavior and uptake into the body.
After twelve years of exemplary leadership, his term of Editor of Chief of the European Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (EJPS) ended on December 31, 2023. Under Martin’s leadership, the Journal has maintained a strong reputation for rigour, and for impact, while also overseeing some large changes, such as a greater globalisation, and a change to becoming a Gold Open Access journal. Martin has ensured the journal adapts to these changes admirably, while maintaining the strong links with the community, with Europe, with EUFEPS and the global research community.
EUFEPS strongly appreciates his outstanding contributions to many EUFEPS activities and awarded him with the EUFEPS Presidential Distinction Award 2024 for his continuous EUFEPS support and contributions over many years!
