Corona Statement

European Pharmaceutical Scientists to combat coronavirus
The coronavirus crisis has hit the world, particularly Europe, with unprecedented force and impact. Apart from many acute public health interventions, all future scenarios with a positive outlook include the availability of one or more tailored vaccines and medicines. The development of such products requires powerful and innovative contributions from virtually the whole spectrum of the pharmaceutical sciences. Although the crisis has led to the shutdown of many university campuses, still coronavirus-related research is being pursued in many university hospitals, industry labs and other research institutions. EUFEPS unites many national European organisations in the pharmaceutical sciences, with tens of thousands of researchers working across Europe in discovery, cell biology, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical formulation or clinical pharmacology. The demands to arrive with timely and effective solutions to combat coronavirus are huge. But the amount of passion and energy that we are witnessing among our members to catalyse coronavirus research is gigantic. We feel extremely proud of all the European pharmaceutical scientists now contributing with tremendous persistence and commitment, together, and with other scientists, to end this crisis.
