Michael Rühl will give a talk with the title: "Where Research Meets Manufacturing: Analytical Innovation for Therapeutic Oligonucleotides".

Abstract:

This talk will describe recent analytical innovations developed at BioSpring and discuss their impact on state-of-the-art oligonucleotide drug development.
Since its foundation in 1997, BioSpring has combined analytical research and excellence with industrial manufacturing and has evolved into one of the leading CDMOs dedicated to therapeutic oligonucleotides.
Recent advances in mass spectrometry and complementary analytical technologies have significantly expanded the capabilities for characterization of increasingly complex therapeutic oligonucleotides. Developments in areas such as sequence confirmation, impurity profiling, and the analysis of long and chemically modified oligonucleotides have supported several (pre)-clinical programs. Beyond their industrial application, these innovations have also advanced the scientific field through peer-reviewed research, methodological developments, and the translation of analytical research into drug development.

Dr. Michael Ruehl will highlight in this presentation selected examples illustrating how analytical research can directly translate into improved therapeutic oligonucleotide development.

CV of Michael Rühl:

Michael Rühl is a trained pharmacist and mass spectrometrist specializing in the oligonucleotide field. He is currently a Senior QC Researcher at BioSpring GmbH, where his work focuses on developing analytical methods to assess the quality of new chemical entities and applying these approaches to a broad range of molecules. He previously held positions as QC Laboratory Head and Junior QC Laboratory Head at BioSpring GmbH.
Michael holds a specialization in Pharmaceutical Analysis (Fachapotheker) and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Goethe University Frankfurt, where his research focused on method development for on-plate protein digestion to investigate covalently binding enzyme inhibitors. He studied Pharmaceutical Sciences at Goethe University Frankfurt and is a member of the German Society for Mass Spectrometry and the German Pharmaceutical Society.
